Santa, with the help of Chief Little and his elves, stopped by Children’s Specialized Hospital and Community Medical Center in Toms River on Thursday. With candy canes in hand; they delivered Christmas and Hanukah presents to the children and a few jolly laughs to the adults.
Every year the officers prepare a month in advance in order to bring some holiday cheer to the children who have to spend this festive time of year in a medical facility. There are many people behind the scenes that work hard to make this happen and never seek recognition. We thank them all for their time, toy donations, and financial contributions. This year’s event collected over $4,000 in cash and toys that were distributed yesterday. The elves were even able to slip a few restaurant gift cards to the parents that spend so much of their time caring for the children. Our goal is to lessen the burden that these families face while counting our own blessings.
