Officer Mark Nater grew up in Colonia NJ and moved to Point Pleasant Borough in 1992. He earned his Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University (Magna Cum Laude), and later graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy with the High Academic Award, the New Jersey State Corrections Academy, and the New Jersey State Police Academy (Municipal Class #197).
In 1995, Officer Nater started his career as a Class II police officer in Point Pleasant Beach. He then became a NJ Juvenile Corrections Officer from 1997-1998. In 1998, Officer Nater became a full time police officer in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he served as a Traffic Safety Officer until 2005 when he was hired as a full time police officer at the Toms River police Department, where he served as a Traffic Safety Officer, Radar Instructor, Work Zone Safety Instructor, and Crisis Intervention Team instructor.
After over 26 years of service, Traffic Safety Officer Nater is retiring. He is looking forward to spending more time with his wife Guin, and daughter Gianna at their home in Brick, NJ.
