We’d like to congratulate Sergeant Bayer on his promotion to Sergeant on February 1, 2021!
Sergeant Ronald Bayer is a lifelong Ocean County resident and a 13-year veteran of the Toms River Police Department. He graduated Lacey Township High School in 2000 and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies from Rutgers University in 2004.
Sergeant Bayer has been involved in many different aspects of the department while assigned to the patrol division, where he was honored to have received Life Saving and Class B Awards. He has worked as a Field Training Officer, a Firearms Instructor and was a 10-year veteran of the department’s Emergency Services Unit where, most recently, he has been a lead instructor on the current tactics used in active shooter and integrated response incidents. He also feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and teach students in the Toms River School System as a certified G.R.E.A.T. Instructor and also as a Toms River Police Summer Camp Instructor for the past several years.
Above all, Sergeant Bayer is most proud of his family. He has been married to his lovely wife Jessica for 11 years and they have three beautiful daughters; Madison (10), Molly (8) and Maisie (6). He’d like to thank them for their continued support along with the rest of his family, friends and colleagues.
Congratulations Sergeant Bayer!
